Apra-IL: Fundraiser Roundtable

Friday, November 11th @ 1:00-2:00 CST

Join your colleagues for a free 60-minute roundtable featuring a moderated conversation with a panel of frontline fundraisers. This discussion will offer attendees the opportunity to gain insight into the perspective of the fundraiser and how they best work with their prospect development teams. 

Discussion will focus how fundraisers utilize research, strategies for portfolio reviews, metrics, and more!

Panelists

Ann Marie Bliley-Ester is the Assistant Vice President for Principal Gifts at Loyola University Chicago. New in this role, she is growing the principal gift pipeline by qualifying principal-level prospects as well as leading collaborative, cross-campus fundraising strategies for principal donors. Prior to Loyola, Ann Marie created and led the team that fundraised for interdisciplinary research programs at Colorado State University. She currently volunteers as president of the Alumni Council and as an ex-officio member of the Board of Regents, including serving on the Advancement Committee, at Mercersburg Academy. Ann Marie has an MS in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University Global, a BA in English from The College of Wooster, and is a Certified Fund raising Executive (CFRE).

Bob Geraty is the Assistant Vice president for Advancement at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. Bob coordinates the major gift team at IWU, which includes prospect research. Prior to his work in Advancement, he spent nearly two decades working in admissions and enrollment. Bob has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and business from Illinois Wesleyan and a master's degree in sociology from Illinois State University.

Megan Kono is a Program Director for Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the fundraising arm of Northwestern Medicine. In this role, she is responsible for establishing the major gift grateful patient fundraising program for ophthalmology, as well as continued fundraising for brain tumor support. Prior to joining Northwestern Medicine, Megan held various development positions at Rush University Medical Center, including work in strategic events, volunteer and board engagement, and grateful patient fundraising for cancer and neurosciences. She holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from Tufts University.

Moderator

Teresa Liu is the Associate Director of Relationship Management at the Art Institute of Chicago. In her role at AIC, Teresa facilitates the movement of prospects, monitors the pipeline of proposals, and delivers forecasting and analytics to gift officers. Prior to joining the museum in 2017, she worked in community economic development and marketing analytics. She holds a BS in finance and a BA in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Teresa is the Director of Membership at Apra-IL and is excited to moderate this discussion!
